What's up with Project Hope?: Visit to Kampala, Uganda

In February, we went on a mission trip to East Africa, to visit "the Family" mission centers in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, whom we are helping as pastors. We held meetings with each center's steering council, the managers and the pastors (whom we call shepherds) and fellowshipped with all the volunteers. We learned so much from all these very dedicated missionaries, as we prayed and counseled how to best reach Africa with the love of Jesus and be the greatest help possible to its needy people, and how to best train nationals in each country.
We thoroughly enjoyed the 12 hour bus ride from Nairobi to Kampala, discovering God's beautiful creation of the Great Rift Valley, the source of the Nile, and the lush tea plantations along the way.
The missionary team in Kampala received us with open arms, and we were so impressed with their dedication, love for the lost, and their tremendously fruitful and versatile work for the Lord which we'll post a few shots of below. We even got to go on the air on their Night Light radio show and talked about our mission work in Congo.

Simon Peterson (host of famous "Count Down to Armageddon" and "Beyond Armageddon" DVDs), has been producing for the past 8 years inspirational Gospel radio programs from Radio Active Productions studios and airing them all over Uganda's main radio stations.

Simon has recently recorded the Gospel of John and the Book of Psalms which you can order from Radio Active Productions PO Box 33344, Kampala, Uganda.

Family Care Uganda organized the purchase and distribution of 30 bags of Posho, 12 bags of 135kg beans, the medicine & clothing to the victims of the flood that devastated the North East area in 2007.

The Kenyan women association asked the Family Care team of volunteers to renovate the dilapidated "Little Angels" orphanage in Rubaga, thus started the project of painting these beautiful murals that brightened the life of the dear children there, reminding them that there is a God and that He does care for them.

In March 2004, Family Care Uganda organized a mission trip to deliver to the Ik tribe 40 such tape players, along with 160 hours of Bible stories tapes in their native language, which were recorded in Radio Active studios. Don't miss watching their amazing accounts on video.
